Career Guidance Cell is establish in 1996 to give career guidance and counseling for future career and placements.

The Career guidance and counselling services are offered for academic progress, Skill Training and Career choices. The guidance & counselling cell offers training to the entire faculty for counselling students under WARD system. The faculty member’s in turn provide personal counselling in matters of health, interpersonal behaviour, and life skills.

  • Departments have devised special sessions for counselling and maintain records of the student’s progress based on their quantitative evaluation and advice offered.
  • The Mentoring system has been fine tuned to include ‘qualitative evaluation’ based on the record of the student’s progress over a period.
  • Feedback from subject teachers and parents is considered while counselling the students in aspects like education, behaviour, social skills.
  • Under Academic counselling faculty advise the applicants on choice of programmes and courses during Admission time.
  • Academic counselling based on performance in the classroom, during examinations is given by the subject teachers.
  • Subject teachers and career guidance cell members help the students in choosing a career path which suits her skills and aptitude.
  • Under the Ward system each lecturer is responsible for supervising the progress of 20 students. They provide personal counselling which includes aspects of Health, Social behaviour, Personality development.
  • Personal counselling by the faculty helps students to familiarize them with social  etiquette, peer group interaction, attitudinal changes which can help them to overcome emotional problems besides reducing dropout rates consequent upon  non academic and non-financial reasons.
  • The Faculty has periodic meetings with Parents and all the subject teachers to discuss their wards’ progress.
  • The institution is exclusively for Women. So all the activities are centered around Women’s education, career development and empowerment. The college has a linkage with the Women’s Cell-ANU .
  • The Women development cell creates awareness among all the women students about their rights, opportunities in employment, measures to overcome Eve teasing, ragging, abuse, health care in adolescent girls, and confidence building measures by arranging Guest lectures, by conducting debates on the issues, by having linkages with NGOs which address women’s problems.

Placement Services:

  • The Career guidance cell displays details of different competitive examinations for placements. The library has the books relevant for preparing for all career oriented exams. The departments like Telugu, Chemistry, Home Science, Fashion Technology, Tourism and Travel Management use their linkages and public goodwill to provide placements.

  •    The JKC provides training in skills and arranges campus Drives and job fairs with the CCE’s support. Till now more than 621 students got employment in various firms through JKC training. Apart from those who got employment through JKC, every department has its own placement record. The JKC arranged more than 20 job fairs in the past three years.
