LIBRARY & READING ROOM

A well-organised Library is there in the college. There is a separate Book Bank for the SC students. There are departmental libraries maintained by the individual departments. Books are issued to the students from the general library and sometimes from the departmental libraries. The Library records are being computerized. There is a separate Reading Room for the students supplied with thirty eight journals including popular and subject journals. It is accessibility to the students from 9:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M on all working days.

The College Central Library is fully achieved automation using SOUL 1.0 software. It is genuine and licensed.

  • One system is arranged at e-corner in reading room to access e-journals and e-books.
  • Degree final year students P.G. students and staff member have access to e-journals, e-books.
  • Access for 2,100 e-journals and 50,000 e-books is available.
  • This access is through N-List Program Member ship of IUC – UGC inflibnet.

  • This collection includes encyclopedias, Dictionaries, GK, Current Affairs, CAT and MAT guides etc.
  • These books are placed in open access area.

Special Collection for Competitive Examinations

  • This collection includes objective type material on different subjects, books on Communication Skills, Mental ability, Reasoning, Aptitude etc.,
  • This collection made available for the students appearing for competitive examinations.

Digital Library

  • Maintained by the collection of subject CDs.
  • These CDs are donated by the teaching staff of various departments and acquired from the book sellers.

Circulation Service

Information about examinations, Competitions, Special Scholarships and Job Drivers is circulated and displayed.

National Book Week

Celebrated every year by arranging book exhibitions for one week to create awareness and importance of book reading in students.

Reading Software for visually challenged

This software is made available for students of visually challenged students. This is presented to the Dept. of Library and information center by one of the faculty, Dr. K.V.S.D.P Vara Prasad, Lecturer in Statistics.

Library Resources

The library is equipped with 44,522  Books and a collection of 4,790 journals, in a carpet area of 2100 square feet. In 2009-10, a digital corner was created in the reading room as an additional facility. The library has academic resources in the form of books, text books standard reference, current journals which include national, international, back volumes, e-resources such as full text/secondary databases, CDs/DVDs, AV materials, etc. The library maintains a special collection of material on national and international agencies (World Bank, UNO, EU, UGC, DST, etc) government documents, book-banks, rare materials, collection for civil service/competitive exams, etc, even with a limited budget.
The library has internet facility and reprographic facility. The BSNL Broad band (unlimited) give 100 Mbps speed and there is LAN facility in the net centre.
The students and faculty use the digital /e-library corner which has two computers and a collection of e-books, CDs and DVDs.
