WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CELL

Women Development Cell was established in this college to empower the women students. The objective of WDC are

  1. To build Confidence through income generating programmes
  2. To enlighten the importance of health, fitness and nutrition through different programmes.
  3. To provide social awareness by organizing important days related to women & issues related to women.
  4. To make them understand the present position and status of women in the contemporary society.

Women Development Cell organized number of activities like Tailoring, Hand Embroidery, Pickle Preparation, Beautician course etc., under Economic Empowerment Activities. Self defense courses, Legal awareness programmes, Awaress on nutrition health awareness programmes are categorized under Social Empowerment Activities. Awareness programmes on Women rights, 33% Reservation Act, Bangaru Talli Act etc., under Political Empowerment Activities.

The students are capable to understand their role in family and national development, enlightened to many opportunities and self employed.

Women Development Cell planned to involve so many social service activities and making tie up with other organizations to uplift women.

2013-2014 ACTIVITIES

  1. Distribution of beauty kit to 1500 students & 100 staff awareness on skin Hair Care on 18.1.2013 (Health Awaress Programme)
  2. Organized programme on "Career Counseling Central Govt. Jobs". Chief guest – K.S. Lakshman Rao & T. S. Ram & Chandra Sekhar Rao on 27.11.2013.
  3. Awareness programme on "Legal Acts- Status of Women in Present Society" by famous lawyer (Legal Awareness Programme )– Y. Koteswara Rao, on 04.12.2013.
  4. Inaugural function "Garment Making with sewing machine (Tailoring)" on 09.12.2013. Certificate Course in Tailoring form 09.12.2013 to 04.02.2013.
  5. Discussion forum on " The role of Women in society" Certificates issued to 30 members on 10.01.2014.
  6. Distribution of Certificates to 25 students after completion of certificate course in "Tailoring" on 04.02.2014.
  7. March 8th Women's Day. Service to the blind students offer one day lunch.
  8. MOU with Vignan University to up lift woman in Tsundur etc.
